My wallet suddenly feels much lighter...

Finally paid for my flight ticket on Monday - having had STA phoning me almost every day over the past couple of weeks. It's the biggest payment I've ever paid for anything - still in a bit of shock over how much poorer I am now. I'm now officially a penniless scabby Traveller. The good news (apart from the fact I'm now 100% definitely going - yay!) is that one of my nightmare journeys has been cut down. Instead of Ghana-Kenya-Dubai-Tehran in 36 hours the agent found flights for Ghana-Dubai-Tehran in about a day less! So of course I've updated the route map - click to enlarge.

I'm such a geek. I've made a route map showing my travels across the globe. You can see from the map just how ridiculous the route is - beacause I want to be in certain plaes at certain times, and to travel between specific places that just aren't supposed to link up. Not only is this costing me much more than a standard round-the-world-via-australia-and-south-east-asia trip, it means that journeys like Ghana to Iran and Cambodia to Vancouver involve 3 or 4 flights, and long stopovers in random airports in the middle of the night. Can't wait!
